The Wadsworth Atheneum art museum will open its doors free to the public on Saturday during Open House Hartford.

What is Open House Hartford?: Open House Hartford is a weekend-long event featuring free exhibits, performances and activities at nearly a dozen participating arts and entertainment venues in the city. Many events are family-friendly. The event is sponsored by Lincoln Financial Foundation.
When is Open House Hartford?: September 8-9, 2007
What are the Highlights of Open House Hartford?: Highlights include:
  • Connecticut Opera's performance of Little Red Riding Hood at Asylum Hill Congregational Church at 11 a.m. Saturday;
  • "An Arabian Adventure," a marionette show, at the Hartford Public Library on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.;
  • A free performance at TheaterWorks of Driving Miss Daisy on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by reservation only (call 860-527-7838 and mention "Open House Hartford");
  • Free admission to the Wadsworth Atheneum on Saturday;
  • Free admission to 50,000 Beds at Real Art Ways all weekend;
  • A free performance by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra String Quartet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bushnell.
