You didn't need to be Irish to enjoy Hartford's 35th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 11, 2006. Bright sunshine and temperatures in the 60s had everyone in a jolly mood... even those of us who weren't drinking Guinness in the streets before noon! With green beads and candy flying, pretty girls and leprechauns waving, veterans drawing swells of applause and pipe bands playing, it was a day to celebrate Irish culture in Connecticut.
The parade lasted for more than two hours and was such a spectacle that I took dozens of pictures. Here are some of the best photos.
