The story of the Titanic's fateful voyage has captured the imagination of millions for decades, touchingly and dramatically illustrating man's fallibility and the triumphs and tragedies of human nature. Unlike the 1997 movie's fictional portrayal, RMS Titanic, Inc.'s Hartford exhibit captures the experience in yet another, incomparable way, presenting the relics recovered from the Titanic's underwater resting place.
What will you see at the exhibit? Since the 1985 discovery of Titanic's water-logged remains, two and a half miles below the ocean's surface, dive teams have extensively photographed the ill-fated ship and have recovered hundreds of artifacts--jewelry, personal objects, priceless treasures. You'll see recovered artifacts and recreations of first and third class cabins and the ship's Boiler Room, touch an iceberg and learn about Connecticut connections to the Titanic story.
The exhibit is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. To reserve your exhibit tickets in advance, which is a good idea, call Ticketmaster at 860-525-4500 to charge by phone or purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster.com. All Tickets are subject to a $1.00 facility surcharge.
Tickets may also be purchased at the Box Office, which closes one hour prior to the exhibit's close each evening. Regular admission is $22. A $20 senior rate is available, as is a children's ticket at $18. An optional audio tour is available for an additional $7.
