Guide Review - Bridgewater Chocolates - Toffee
The quest to find the most delectable chocolate made in Connecticut is not a challenge that I take lightly, and though I fully intend to continue to sample other contenders, I'm going to go out on a limb and declare Bridgewater Chocolate the hands down victor. I'm not alone in drawing this conclusion--the Connecticut Specialty Foods Association named Bridgewater Chocolate "Best Confection" in 1999 and 2000 and most outstanding overall food product in Connecticut for 2000, too. When I tasted Bridgewater Toffee for the first time, the buttery, dissolve-in-your mouth toffee seemed to play second fiddle to the coating of outrageously delicious chocolate. I was most impressed that the chocolate's sweetness level seemed to be absolutely perfect.
