Last Chance to See KOOZA

Thursday April 24, 2008
More than 84,000 people have seen Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA during its Hartford run this month. There are just eight shows left under the Grand Chapiteau on Market Street--two daily today through Sunday, April 27--so you'll need to hurry if you want to see KOOZA's daredevil acts and high-flying acrobats before they leave town. Don't miss your chance to see world-class entertainment right here in Hartford.

I went to see the impressionists at the Wadworth. The parking garage was closed so I parked on the street and paid the maximum that the meter would take which is 2 hours. It took two and a half hours to see the exhibit and have lunch. The meter expired at 1:30 and the ticket was issued at 1:43.

My issue is: The maximum parking of 2 hrs is insufficient time to visit a museum.
There are no change machines in the metered parking area to obtain additional change when it is necessary.

I would have gladly paid for one more hour of parking if it was available. Once we got into the museum, our admition ticket was good for only one time to enter (it was not possible to leave and re-enter on the same ticket.)

Ironically, a woman from Massachussetts gave me additional money to put into her meter for her as she was still not finished with the exhibit. I put the money in for her but too late, she too had a parking violation on her windshield.

Way to go Hartford. This is a VERY good way to encourage visits to the city. Pay for a museum ticket, lunch, and $25 for a parking ticket because there is NO PLACE to park around the Wadsworth Antheneum! And, on a day when the parking garage was closed, there was no accommodation for someone being 10 minutes late getting back to the meter!
