What's New at America's Oldest Theme Park?

Thursday May 1, 2008
Lake Compounce, located in Bristol in the southwest corner of Connecticut's Hartford County, is the nation's oldest amusement park. Although Lake Compounce won't debut any major new rides in 2008, visitors to the park this year will discover upgrades to existing attractions designed to improve riders' experiences and shorten wait times. Lake Compounce is already home to Connecticut's largest water park, but a seven-acre water park expansion will be the next big addition. The first phase is projected to open in 2010.

Here's your guide to the 2008 season at Connecticut's premier family amusement park, which opens for the season on Saturday, May 10.
