Bushnell Park Carousel Opens Saturday

Thursday April 24, 2008
The Bushnell Park Carousel, which turns 94 this year, opens Saturday, April 26, for the 2008 season. The price remains an affordable $1 per ride, so treat your family to old-fashioned fun and a history lesson. Only three carousels hand-carved by Russian immigrants Solomon Stein and Harry Goldstein remain intact, and Hartford's prized carousel is one of them. Ride fees help to preserve this Hartford landmark for future generations.

Opening day festivities, scheduled for 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, include arts and crafts, juggling, miming, music, balloon animals and a magic show.
